Who are Music Dynamics?
Music Dynamics Ltd dates from the early 1990's, when a well-known BBC announcer
and a top BBC recording engineer - both keen choral singers - came up with a
solution to the perennial problem of note bashing. Choir rehearsals never
seemed to allow enough time for this elementary process - even the best
sight-readers struggled sometimes - and practising at home between rehearsals
was not always successful.
A note-bashing recording was the obvious answer; and to avoid the problem of
individual vocal interpretation (tempo, dynamics and pronunciation) as well as
any conflict with the conductor, the now familiar idea of using sampled
instruments rather than voices was applied from day one. It was to be a
learning tool, not a performance recording.
Chorus Line (as it was known) became ChoraLine™ within a year and this
trade mark appeared on the first published recording - Carl Orff's Carmina
Burana. Its success turned a part-time venture into a mail order company -
Music Dynamics Ltd - and since that time the recordings repertoire has expanded
to encompass a wide range of popular choral works,
sold to individual singers or choirs, and hired in quantity to
choirs. The company also sells vocal scores from
an extensive stock range, choir folders in a
selection of colours, a selection of performance
recordings of popular choral works, chosen for vocal clarity as well as
performance excellence. All products may be
